Data Buoy

The objective of DATA BUOY is collected the long-term time series data of marine and meteorological data for monitoring marine environments and providing the basic hydrological parameters of global change such as typhoons, eddy, water masses, and ocean circulation. The data of data buoy is including temperature, air pressure, and wind speed & direction, relative humidity, solar radiation and water temperature profile on upper layer.

Since 2013, TROI has mounted the data buoys near the ocean of Spratly Islands, Xiao Liuqiu (the island on southwest ocean of Taiwan) and Western Pacific. The data buoy collected the meteorological and hydrological data and the data was transmitted to marine database in TORI by Iridium satellite near time.  After QA/QC  processing and displayed on the webpage.
